About the music.
Underground Authority is a Kolkata rap-rock band whose music connects guitar, bass and drums with an MC's delivery. Its published catalogue describes a concern with ordinary people's struggles, using songs to raise questions about power, identity and the possibility of change.
You-Authority, released in 2014, explores subjects including racism, escapism and resistance. The single Gypsy and the later Propaगेंडा EP offer further entry points into a sound that moves between rap, rock, funk and reggae influences.
