An introduction

About the music.

Moheener Ghoraguli was a Kolkata band active from 1975 to 1981. Its arrangements brought guitars, strings and drums together with Bengali folk instruments, setting urban experiences alongside rural musical influences. The band's archive documents three original releases from the 1970s.

A separate chapter followed in the 1990s, when Gautam Chattopadhyay curated albums featuring the band's work alongside other artists. Those compilations form part of the wider legacy, but their songs should retain their individual performer and writer credits.
